What to know: The Hawkeyes defeated Mississippi 74-69 Tuesday night in Palm Springs. Bennett Stirtz had 29 points. Cooper Koch had 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
Stirtz upped his scoring average to 19.5 points per game. He made 6 of 8 three-pointers against Ole Miss and is 15-of-28 (53.6 percent) this season.
Grand Canyon defeated Utah Tuesday, 68-58, despite shooting 39.7 percent from the field, getting outrebounded 40-33, and without making a 3-pointer. The Lopes were 0-of-10 from deep. They had only six turnovers to Utah’s 14.
GCU has losses to Youngstown State and Saint Louis.
The Hawkeyes had one second-half turnover against Ole Miss. For the third time this season, they had just seven in the game.

The lone meeting between the Antelopes of Phoenix and Iowa was in the 2021 NCAA tournament in Indianapolis, a 78-64 Iowa first-round win. That is the Hawkeyes’ most-recent NCAA victory.
The Lopes’ leading scorer is 6-foot-7 forward Jaden Henley, on his fourth college team after stops at Minnesota, DePaul and UNLV. He scored 18 points against Utah and averages 17.
Nanu Owusu-Anane is a 6-8 fifth-year player who transferred to GCU from Brown. He averages 11.5 points and 10.7 rebounds.
