4 Hermanos Mexican restaurant expanding to Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — 4 Hermanos, a Hiawatha Mexican restaurant, is planting roots in a new city.
The fast-casual concept announced plans on social media to open a second location at 1125 First Ave. SE — the corner shop vacated by Via Sofia’s earlier this month.
The new location will have “a more complete menu” with table service — a departure from its first location, which offers counter service. The restaurant has not announced an opening date.
The Hiawatha location opened in December 2022 at 1725 Boyson Rd., the former location of Tatyana’s Coffee Shop & Cafe. Its menu features an affordable variety of burritos, fries, nachos, quesadillas and other Mexican staples.
