David Wayne Neff, 64, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at his residence in Ainsworth under hospice care.
Celebration of Life services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton, Iowa, at a later date. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County or Paws and More Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be sent for the family at www.jonesfh.com.
David was born, May 8, 1959, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Charles and Linda (Reighard) Neff. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1977 and attended Indian Hills Community College where he received his truck driving certification.
He was a truck driver and later drove a school bus for the Highland Community School District. David most recently worked for Hawkeye Moving Co. in Iowa City, Iowa. He loved camping, working on old cars, attending car shows and especially liked going to outdoor music venues.
He is survived by his significant other, Rose Bixby of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister, Debra (Michael) Hendrix of Richland, Missouri; adopted daughter, Shelly (Steve) Oehlert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; aunt, Charlottte (Richard) Magdefrau of Washington, Iowa; uncle, Keith (Ruth) Reighard of Washington, Iowa; aunt, Donna (Gary) Tyler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; aunt, Rhoda Lowe of Washington, Iowa; and many cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Darcy Neff.
