Suspect arrested in Cedar Rapids bank robbery

CEDAR RAPIDS - Police arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery earlier in the day.
Officers responded to the U.S. Bank branch at 3401 Mount Vernon Road SE at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators said a man entered the U.S. Bank branch and demanded cash. He did not display a weapon and no injuries were reported, according to a release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
A K-9 unit and uniformed officers searched the area around the bank.
Officers arrested 38-year-old Nicholas Parry in the 900 block of 28th Street SE around 8:30 p.m. Parry, of Marion, was charged with 2nd degree robbery, a Class C felony.
Police say Parry acted alone.
