Police say woman stole $80,000 from Coralville beauty supply store

A woman is accused of stealing more than $80,000 from her employer.

According to the Coralville Police Department, from June 2011 through November 2013, 30-year-old Brittany E. Willman, of Tiffin, was manager of State Beauty Supply. Police said Willman was responsible for all deposits for the business.

While comparing daily register sales with deposit tickets and bank statements, police said differences were noted between cash sales and cash deposited. A review of bank statements showed a shortage of more than $80,000 when compared with actual cash sales.

Police said Willman made statements to the owner of State Beauty Supply about taking cash from the deposits. She was arrested and faces one count of first-degree theft, a felony.
