CEDAR RAPIDS — Two boys were detained by police Friday night after a report of shots fired in Cedar Rapids.
Officers were dispatched to the 6600 block of First Avenue West just before 6:30 p.m. Friday after a report of shots fired, according to a press release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department. The area is near the Stoney Point development, adjacent to Cherry Hill Park and close to West Willow Elementary School.
Police located an injured woman, who the release states appeared to be suffering from “gunfire-related injuries.” She did not require hospital treatment for the injuries.
