Why attack Rob Reiner?

In the 70s our family gathered around one TV. We watched “All in the Family’” together. It was shocking for me. I watched as a racist ranted. Never had I listened to such verbal hate before. It was a lesson that the whole country needed. We were educated on what goes on in other families and tried to understand the world we needed to change.
Rob Reiner's character was like us. Trying to change the attitude of hate with the voice of reason. Maybe that is why the baby boomers forged forward with protests and movies to “think.”
With the recent denunciation of him by President Donald Trump, I am horrified. Who among us does not have a family member who has challenged our family values? We are in desperate times. It is Christmas and Trump leads the nation like Archie Bunker. Hate spread with no “Meathead” to face him to say stop! I am proud of those representatives and Senators who said enough! We have to turn this divided America around. Perhaps a new TV show with a Rob Reiner type, working in the Union, a trucking company, a construction site? Our children and grandkids need to hear that discussion. Get off your phones and talk to your family. Thank you Rob for your work, but I am feeling overwhelmed during this time of feeling the Christmas spirit. Prayers are not enough. Call your elected offices.
