Stricter gun laws are not the solution

Kids protesting about guns and stricter laws to acquire guns are missing the point. It doesn't matter whether laws are stricter or not. Anyone who wants to wreak havoc with a gun or other weapon will do so.

The FBI, police and other law enforcement that's sworn to protect us trains to protect us at their very best. But terrorists have days, months, sometimes years to come up with a plan and execute it. Law enforcement that protects us has only a matter of minutes to assess and take action.

If laws get stricter, then the attacker will find a loophole. You still have a problem, regardless of how much time and effort you put in to make it 'near impossible” to get a gun in the first place.

Guns and other devices aren't the only problem. People are the problem. People and their stupid minds are the problem. That's why Tide Pods are on the crackdown. Tide Pods are a laundry detergent, not a drug. Yet people are using it to get a 'high.” Does that mean we need a law about Tide Pod purchasing? No, it just means we need to do a better job of raising our kids and disciplining them when they mess up.

Anything can be a weapon. People by themselves are a weapon. But stricter laws to ensure that this evil ends is not a solution. It's just a temporary fix that can and will be avoided.

Let's get smart and turn back to God.
