Matt Campbell gave Iowa State fans an official look at the new uniforms he promised were on the way for the 2018 season.
The Iowa State football coach tweeted an image Tuesday of three new designs, one white, one cardinal and, most notably, a black alternate that features white numbers and grey outlines.
Colors for the helmets and pants match the jerseys for each set, with all three helmets featuring Iowa State athletics' primary logo. The logo is transformed to black and grey for the alternate design.
Iowa State debuted charcoal jerseys in 2016, Campbell's first season and unveiled an alternate helmet logo last year.
The new uniforms will first be in action Saturday, Sept. 1 when Iowa State hosts South Dakota State to kick off the season.
