Finally, the Ducks are returning to Iowa City

- This is Iowa’s first game against Oregon in Iowa City since 1989, a 44-6 Ducks win. That is the worst season-opening loss in Hawkeyes history.
- The Hawkeyes have allowed 13.1 points per game, fourth in the nation. The Ducks’ 13.5 is sixth-best. Iowa is second nationally in total defense, allowing 234.9 yards per game. Oregon is fourth at 239.4.
- Oregon has won its last 10 road games, the longest active streak in the nation. No one else has won more than their last five.
- Iowa has defeated seven Top 10 teams at home since 2000, but has lost its last 11 games against ranked teams.
- Hawkeyes quarterback Mark Gronowski has a rushing touchdown in his last 11 games.
- Dan Lanning’s coaching record at Oregon is 42-7.
- Iowa is 21-2 in its last 23 November games. Oregon is 18-5, but has won its last eight.
- Oregon leads all teams nationally in rushes of 20-plus yards with 24. Iowa is tied for first in fewest 20-yard rushes allowed with 1.
- Ducks reside in the Peabody Memphis hotel lobby fountain from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. When off-duty, the ducks live in their Royal Duck Palace on the hotel’s rooftop. Duck has not been part of the hotel’s restaurant menus since the hotel was renovated in 1981.
