What to know: First and foremost, Chit-Chat Wright’s availability is unknown. Wright was injured early in the third quarter of Iowa’s 57-52 win over No. 7 Baylor on Thursday.
The Hawkeyes held the Bears without a field goal for the final 6:21, and a late 9-0 run flipped the game Iowa’s way for good.
Ava Heiden posted 18 points and 11 rebounds, Taylor Stremlow added 12 points off the bench, and the Hawkeyes held Baylor to 6-of-32 shooting (18.8 percent) in the second half.
Heiden is averaging 15.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, both team highs.
If Iowa can stack another win on top of Thursday’s triumph, expect a climb into the top-15, at the very least, of Monday’s Associated Press poll.
Miami defeated Davidson, 66-58, as part of the WBCA Showcase on Thursday. Gal Raviv (a 5-foot-9 sophomore from Israel) scored 22 points, and Ra Shaya Kyle (6-6 center) added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hawkeyes lead the series, 4-0, including NCAA victories over the Hurricanes, in 2013 and 2015, both in Iowa City.
