IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa women’s basketball coaching staff is back at full capacity.
LaSondra Barrett has been named an assistant coach on Jan Jensen’s staff, the program announced Friday.
Barrett, 35, served as an assistant coach at Georgia Tech for three seasons, adding recruiting coordinator to her title in 2024.
She had spent the previous three seasons at Houston, working primarily with post players. She also had assistant-coaching stops at Louisiana Tech (2018-19) and Florida International (2016-17).
A native of Jackson, Miss., Barrett is a former all-American at LSU, where she played from 2008 through 2012.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Iowa women’s basketball staff,” Barrett said in a release. “This program has a storied tradition of excellence, built on a foundation of hard work, integrity and a true passion for the game.”
Barrett fills the vacancy left when Raina Harmon departed to take the head-coaching job at Florida Gulf Coast University.
