IOWA CITY -- Turns out, Sunday’s uniform-retirement ceremony won’t be Caitlin Clark’s final official appearance at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The WNBA’s Indiana Fever announced Thursday that they will host the Brazilian National Team in an exhibition game at Carver on May 4.
“We couldn’t be more excited to play at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and we know Iowa fans will deliver an unforgettable homecoming for Caitlin,” Fever president of basketball operations Kelly Krauskopf said in a release.
“Countless Hawkeye fans have become Fever fans, and we consider them family. That’s what will make this preseason matchup so special for us.”
Indiana selected Clark as the overall No. 1 WNBA pick last year. Clark led Iowa Hawkeyes to the NCAA finals in 2023 and 2024.
Tickets to the game will be available through the University of Iowa, with more information available at a later date.
Should tickets for the preseason game become available to the general public, updates will be shared via Fever social-media channels.
The University of Iowa athletics department will retire Clark’s No. 22 following Sunday’s game against No. 4 USC at 12:30 p.m.
FOX will televise both the game and the postgame ceremony.
