University of Iowa releases non-conference wrestling schedule; opens at home against Bellarmine
Iowa will compete in National Duals Invitational and Journeymen Wrestling duals; Hawkeyes hit the road for rivalry duals at Iowa State and Oklahoma State

IOWA CITY - The 2025-26 non-conference schedule for University of Iowa men’s wrestling season has been released.
Now, fans have a complete picture of the Hawkeyes’ competitions.
Iowa will open the season at home against Bellarmine, according to the announcement Thursday. The Hawkeyes will have six home duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and will wrestle at the Soldier Salute held at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
Iowa will also host Pitt on Nov. 21, which concludes its non-conference home schedule.
The Hawkeyes will hit the road for its two most notable non-conference rivalries. The CyHawk Series dual will be Nov. 30 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
Iowa will conclude the regular season at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., on Feb. 22.
The Hawkeyes will participate in two neutral-site dual events. The first is the highly-anticipated National Duals Invitational on Nov. 15-16 at BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla. Iowa is the No. 1 seed of the new event and will face Missouri in the first round of the 16-team field, which also includes University of Northern Iowa.
Iowa will compete in the Journeymen Wrestling “Uncivil War” on Dec. 12 at Hannibal, Mo. The Hawkeyes will wrestle Chattanooga and Utah Valley.
The Hawkeyes will return to the Soldier Salute, but the two-day tournament has moved to the first weekend of January. It was previously the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Iowa had released its Big Ten Conference schedule previously. The Hawkeyes host Wisconsin (Jan. 9), Penn State (Jan. 16), Minnesota (Jan. 30) and Michigan (Feb. 13). Iowa has road duals at Nebraska (Jan. 23), Ohio State (Feb. 6), Michigan State (Feb. 8) and Purdue (Feb. 15).
Iowa will compete at the Big Ten Championships held at Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pa., on March 7-8. The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will be March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
Iowa was 14-1 in duals last season, including a 7-1 conference mark. The Hawkeyes placed third at the Big Ten tournament. They placed fourth at the NCAA Championships with five All-Americans, including 197-pound national champion Stephen Buchanan.
Tom Brands enters his 20th season as Iowa’s head coach. He 291-28-1 overall and 140-15 in the Big Ten during his tenure. Brands has coached 26 Big Ten titlists, 14 NCAA champions and 109 All-Americans.
