DYERSVILLE BECKMAN 48, CASCADE 13 — Jude Kramer ran for 178 yards on 14 carries while Mack Wolfe added 98 yards on 15 carries to power the Blazers to an upset.
The Iowa Class 1A No. 9-ranked Cougars (4-2, 2-1) had their eyes on revenge after the No. 10 Trailblazers (5-1, 3-0), their biggest rival, defeated them in last year’s regular season finale with a playoff berth on the line. That didn’t come to fruition, as the Blazers had their own score to settle.
“This was definitely our Super Bowl,” Kramer said. “We were considered the underdogs. The Cougars have been such a good team, but we just kicked them hard and started early.”

WILLIAMSBURG 26, NEVADA 18 — Scoring in all three phases is usually a good recipe for success, and that is exactly what the Raiders did.
After trailing 7-0 with no first downs in the first quarter, Williamsburg finally scored after a Noah Banos interception. Cash Brown then heaved a pass into the end zone, which was caught by Bowen Stratton. DUBUQUE SENIOR 21, C.R. JEFFERSON 10 — The Rams leaned on their quarterback’s legs to rally pastthe J-Hawks at Dalzell Field.
Jefferson quarterback Vernon Benda kept the J-Hawks in control through the air early, throwing 152 yards passing in the first two quarters. Jefferson’s early momentum also came from its ground game, as running back Uweza Kalolera found the end zone in the opening quarter.
Senior answered, however, with a clutch drive late in the first quarter. Quarterback Joey Schlosser punched in a rushing touchdown to get them on the board, and just before halftime the Rams’ defense made one of its biggest stops, preventing the J-Hawks from scoring before the half after a long drive. That stand kept the margin to just three points going into the third quarter.
The second half belonged entirely to Senior. Behind an aggressive ground attack, Schlosser broke loose for his second rushing touchdown midway through the third quarter, flipping the score and giving the Rams a 14—10 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Schlosser struck again. On a designed run near the goal line, he broke in for his third rushing score of the night, sealing a 21—10 victory.
