Two people have died after being caught in a house fire in Marion Sunday, according to a press release from the Marion Fire Department.
The fire department responded to the 200 block of South 11th Street at 6:54 p.m. Sunday for a house fire that had been reported by neighbors.
Fire was visible from the outside of the home, and firefighters found two people inside — Ronald Tow, 62, and Richard Kjose, 71. Tow and Kjose were transported to a hospital and later died.
The cause and origin of the fire still are under investigation by the Marion Fire and Police departments and the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office.
