AMES – Iowa State’s home wrestling meets include in-state rivalries, Big 12 Conference battles and an NCAA Division II power led by former Cyclones.
Iowa State and Coach Kevin Dresser announced Thursday the complete schedule for the 2025-26 wrestling season. The Cyclones open the season Nov. 8 with the Cyclone Invitational.
The home slate consists of seven home duals, including the annual Cy-Hawk Series Dual on Nov. 30 at Hilton Coliseum. Iowa has won 20 straight duals and 34 of the last 35 in the rivalry, owning a 70-16-2 advantage after last year’s 21-15 victory.
In-state and conference rival University of Northern Iowa also comes to Ames. The Cyclones and Panthers will face off Feb. 15. Iowa State leads the series, 62-21, but UNI won last season’s meeting, 26-10, at McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.
Iowa State begins dual competition Nov. 14 with University of Nebraska-Kearney coached by former Cyclone NCAA qualifiers Dalton Jensen and Andrew Sorenson.
The Cyclones will also host Utah Valley (Jan. 23), West Virginia (Feb. 13) and Missouri (Feb. 22) in Ames. They will wrestle South Dakota State in their annual home dual at Humboldt High School. Dresser was a two-time state champion at Humboldt in 1980 and 1981.
Iowa State will compete in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 5-6 and the Collegiate Duals at Nashville, Tenn. The Cyclones will wrestle Lehigh and Ohio State in the Collegiate Duals on Dec. 21.
The Cyclone Open will be held Jan. 18.
The Cyclones have road duals at Stanford (Jan. 4), Arizona State (Jan. 6), North Dakota State (Jan. 11), Oklahoma (Jan. 30) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 1).
The Big 12 Championships will be held at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., on March 6-7. NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships is set for Rocket Arena in Cleveland on March 19-21.
Iowa State is ranked fourth in Flowrestling’s preseason tournament rankings.
