Waterloo man charged with sexual abuse of child in North Liberty

A Waterloo man was arrested this week in Johnson County on charges that he sexually abused a child 13 years ago, when he was a teen.
Ricky Witt, 28, is charged with second-degree sexual abuse. According to a criminal complaint, he sexually abused a child younger than 12 between March and December of 2012, when Witt was 15 years old.
The reported abuse happened in North Liberty.
A warrant was issued for Witt’s arrest on Friday, and he was booked into the Johnson County Jail early Tuesday morning. He had his first appearance in court Tuesday and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
