One injured in Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS — One person was injured Wednesday night in a shooting in northeast Cedar Rapids, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Police were called to the 1500 block of First Avenue NE at about 5 p.m., where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was given medical attention on-scene and taken to a hospital for injuries that police do not believe are life-threatening, the release states.
The department has not released any other information about the investigation into the shooting, or any arrests.
