One charged in Friday afternoon shooting incident in Iowa City
Investigation determined no one was hit by bullets

A 22-year-old Iowa City man faces charges in connection with a Friday shots fired incident.
Xzavier Herman, 22, of Iowa City, is accused of felon in possession of a firearm (second offense), going armed with intent, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, use of a dangerous weapon in commission of a crime and reckless use of a firearm.
Herman hit another man in the back of the head with a gun and discharged a shot during the altercation, criminal complaints state.
Police responded to the 900 block of East College Street around 1:29 p.m. Friday to reports of a person being shot in the chest. Residents reported hearing gun shots. Investigators determined no one was struck by gunfire but were able to develop several people of interest in the investigation.
Investigators executed a search warrant in Cedar Rapids and found the gun that Herman used in the shooting.
Herman was adjudicated in a 2022 first-degree robbery incident, records show.
