A former CEO of a telecommunications provider in northern Iowa was sentenced Friday to more than three years in federal prison after he stole more than $600,000 from his employer, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.
Anthony Lang, 42, of Jesup, pleaded guilty in April to one count of wire fraud.
A criminal complaint states that between January 2017 and January 2023, Lang purchased at least $600,000 worth of products and services — including an almost $7,700 hot tub — using credit cards and bank accounts belonging to the telecommunications company, which was not named in the complaint or the release.
Lang was sentenced to 38 months in federal prison, and ordered to pay $662,736 in restitution. After his prison term, he will serve a three-year term of supervised release.
