A Cedar Rapids man is facing charges after police say he attempted to meet up with what he believed was a 15-year-old girl for sex.
Nathan Stahr, 46, is charged with enticing a minor under 16 and grooming. According to a criminal complaint, he contacted a fake Facebook profile that was being operated by Cedar Rapids Police officers.
The profile told him that she was 15, and he continued to engage in a sexual conversation with her and asked her for sexual photographs. He then asked her to meet up with him at Prairie Park Fishery, 2125 Otis Rd. SE, on Aug. 20, the complaint states.
He was met at the park by Cedar Rapids Police officers, who called his profile through the Facebook app, and his phone started to ring, according to the complaint.
Stahr was booked into the Linn County Jail Thursday and had his first appearance in court on Friday. He is being held on a $6,000 bond.
