Final IHSAA boys basketball rankings in Class 3A and Class 4A are released
Cedar Falls is atop 4A and Huxley Ballard atop 3A

CEDAR RAPIDS - Call these the state tournament seedings edition.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association released its final boys basketball rankings Monday for Class 3A and 4A.
The rankings will be used as a guide to draw pairings for the upcoming state tournament in those two classes. For instance, top-ranked Cedar Falls (20-0) would be the ‘1’ seed in Class 4A at state if it qualifies for it.
Waukee is ranked second, Waukee Northwest third and West Des Moines Dowling fourth. Throw Johnston (7) and Urbandale (10) in there, and the Central Iowa Metro League has half of the final top 10.
Cedar Rapids Prairie (16-5) slipped from seventh to eighth after a home loss to Dubuque Senior last week. Senior slipped from fifth to sixth after a close loss at home to Cedar Falls.
It’s the same 10 teams as last week in the final 3A poll, though there was a smidge of movement. Huxley Ballard (20-1) remains the solid No. 1 team, followed again by Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Storm Lake and Pella in that order.
Clear Lake moved up from sixth to fifth, Carroll from seventh this week. Dubuque Wahlert (13-8) fell from fifth to seventh after a loss last week to Iowa City Liberty.
Solon remained eighth.
There are 3A and 4A substate quarterfinals around the state Monday night. The IHSAA and its rankings committee will meet again when substate finals games are set to rank each of the teams in order that are not in the top 10, in case any of those teams qualify for the state tournament.
