Grunday Center 21, Dyersville Beckman 0
Beckman’s prolific offense was buried under a sea of maroon jerseys as the Trailblazers were bounced from the state playoffs by the No. 1 Spartans (11-0).
The Trailblazers entered the game with a Class 1A-leading 52 rushing touchdowns. A stifling Spartans’ defense kept that powerful offense far from the endzone. Beckman only ran eight plays on the Grundy Center side of the field in the game and never got closer than the 37-yard line.
Judd Jirovsky produced touchdown runs of 38 and 3 yards to put the Spartans up 14-0 at the break. In the fourth quarter, he tossed a 14-yard touchdown pass to Pete Lebo on a fourth-and-goal play with 5:05 remaining to seal the game.
Beckman Catholic (9-2) ran 47 offensive plays for a total of 106 yards of offense, 32 of which came on a pass play in the second quarter.
Grundy Center’s won its 50th straight game, becoming only the third school in state history to ever reach 50 straight. Regina and Waterloo East co-own that state record at 56 straight.

Pella 7, Decorah 6
Emmanuel Diers scored on a 10-yard run with 7:16 left in the game as the Dutch held on at home.
Scoreless through three quarters, Pella scored first for a 7-0 lead. Decorah recovered a Dutch fumble on Pella’s 14 yard line and Viking quarterback Tanner Caddell found Noah Milburn for the touchdown, pulling the Vikings within one. The extra point sailed wide and Pella ran the clock out for the win.
Decorah finishes 8-3.

Saint Ansgar 49, North Linn 21
Playing without quarterback Will Sommerfelt, the Lynx couldn’t challenge the No. 1 Saints in Saint Ansgar.
Korbin Michaels power the Saints (11-0) to the Class A semifinals, rushing for 184 yards and five touchdowns on 20 carries. North Linn backup Jackwon Nielsen passed for 192 yards and the Lynx (9-2) scored two late TDs after falling behind 49-6, one on a kickoff return by Braden Wheatley.
Osage 12, Alburnett 7
Brock Trees scored on an 18-yard run with 3:03 left in the game, carrying two defenders with him, as the No. 3 Green Devils (11-0) won at home,
Osage also scored on its opening drive on a Quinn Street 1-yard run. Street finished with 111 yards on 27 rushes.
Alburnett scored on its opening drive of the third quarter, on an 11-yard pass from Brody Kaestner. The Pirates drove inside Osage 30 in the fourth, but Street intercepted a pass with 1:07 left sealed the win.
Laken Caves 29 carries times for 117 yards — and also had four catches for 34 yards — for Alburnett (8-3).
