McCabe signs pro basketball deal
IOWA CITY - Former Iowa basketball player Zach McCabe announced Friday he has signed to play for BC Batumi in the Republic of Georgia.
Batumi is one of nine teams in Georgia's Superleague. Batumi advanced to the semifinals.
McCabe, a 23-year-old Sioux City native, started 40 games and appeared in an Iowa-record 137 games during his four-year career. He was a team co-captain this year and scored 871 points in his career. He averaged 6.4 points a game.
