Iowa Speedway's Small shovels fan's walkway
Jan. 5, 2015 8:55 pm
As the winter storm rolled across Iowa on Monday, Iowa Speedway President Jimmy Small took an opportunity to do some guerrilla marketing of sorts.
The Speedway has been pushing a "Fans with Benefits" marketing campaign, which promotes the relationship between the track and its fans. The relationship went to another level Monday night.
He sent out a tweet, offering to shovel a fan's driveway if they were to call up and order some season tickets.
I will personally come to your house 2nite and clear your driveway for the first person to call, mention this tweet, & buy 4 new season tixJanuary 5, 2015

Some fans didn't believe the offer was serious, but Small definitely was. He tweeted later that he'd found the fan and was headed to Lynville to do some shoveling.
Well, most of our fans thought I was joking. I was not! I finally got in touch with a customer who accepted the offer. Next Stop: Lynnville!January 6, 2015

Small ended up getting off a little light, only having to do the Fraker family's front walkway.
Ok they let me off easy... Just the front walkway. That was fun! January 6, 2015
