Hall and Hall Engineers names new board members

BOARD MEMBERS

Hall and Hall Engineers has named project civil engineer Josh Entler (see photo) and design engineer technician Chris Phillips (see photo) to its board of directors.

The Jane Boyd Community House board of directors appointed Dorice Ramsey as the agency’s executive director. She currently serves as director of Wellington Heights programs and will continue to oversee that work.

NEW HIRES

Jacob Staneart (see photo) has joined Ulteig Engineering and Consulting as a structural graduate engineer in its Cedar Rapids office.

Lesley Puffer (see photo) has joined Cedar Rapids OB Gyn Specialists P.C. as its office manager. She was previously with Cedar Ridge Dental in Tipton.

Genova Technologies hired Thomas Bragg (see photo) as director of business development/Engineering Services. He was formerly with Avista.

The Cedar Rapids Aquatic Association hired Joe Plane as head coach for the CRAA Swim Team and will oversee swim lessons programs for the CRAA Swim Program.

PROMOTIONS

Kyle Brinkman (see photo), previously staff accountant with Honkamp Krueger & Co., Cedar Rapids, was promoted to senior accountant.

Bruce Bergen (see photo) of Mediacom Business has been promoted to advanced sales account executive for the Cedar Rapids area after completing Advanced Products and Services Certification training.

Kaplan University, Cedar Rapids, has promoted Rachael Halse to director of business development. She previously was career services advisor and externship coordinator.

CERTIFICATION

Michael Wapp (see photo) of the Strellner Agency Group received certification as a retirement income certified professional through The American College of Financial Services.

Michel Graham (see photo) and Karen Nesheim (see photo), accounting services technicians with the Linn County Auditor’s Office, received their Certificate of Accounting Compliance through Lorman Education Services.

MERGER

AW Welt Ambrisco Insurance Inc., Iowa City, announces a merger with E-S Goodvin Insurance. The merger became effective April 1. Jon Goodvin, owner of E-S Goodvin Insurance since 1997, will join the AW Welt Ambrisco sales team as a producer. He may be reached at (319) 887-3700.

Tracy Dostal (see photo) and Justin Gullekson (photo), both financial advisors with BancWest Investment Services located at Decorah’s Bank of the West, were honored by the bank. Dostal was named to the Circle of Excellence and Gullekson to the Presidents Club.

Charlie Funk (see photo), president and CEO of MidWestOne Bank, Iowa City, received the Citation for Achievement award from his alma mater, William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo.

Jay Halvorson (see photo) of Eagles Landing Vineyard and Winery, Marquette, has been named Winemaker of the Year by the Iowa Wine Growers Association.

UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital has achieved Magnet recognition for a second time from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Honkamp Krueger & Co., Cedar Rapids, has moved up nine spots, from 83 to 74, on the Top 100 CPA firms in the United States. Honkamp Krueger also was recognized by Accounting Today as the second fastest growing CPA firm in the Midwest.

MISCELLANEOUS

7G Distributing in Cedar Rapids is partnering with Folds of Honor Foundation to award four $5,000 scholarships to recipients in four cities, which include Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. The foundation provides educational scholarships for children and spouses of military personnel killed or disabled while serving.
