Parking for the Iowa City Duals

The University of Iowa has distributed a press release addressing parking for Friday's Iowa City Duals. The opener to the wrestling team's dual meet season begins at 10:30 a.m., featuring Coe, Cornell, Iowa Lakes, SIU-Edwardsville and UNC-Pembroke. Read a preview feature for the event. Construction around Carver-Hawkeye Arena has limited parking options for most. Below is the news release:

Important information for the Events on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009
Parking for the Iowa Wrestling Duals will be “extremely limited” in the vicinity of Carver-Hawkeye Arena throughout the entire day of competition. All parking lots will be screened and monitored to allow parking only for the placard employees in their respective assigned lots.
The Iowa Athletics Department is encouraging wrestling fans attending the Iowa Duals to use a continuous “FREE” shuttle service from Hancher and Hawkeye Commuter parking lots throughout the entire day. Fans parking at the Hancher lot will take the UI Cambus Blue Route to Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the UI Cambus Red Route back to the Hancher lot. Fans parking at the Hawkeye Commuter lot will take busses designated to and from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The only exceptions for parking near Carver-Hawkeye Arena during the entire day are as follows:
1) Lot 46
a. Limited number of ADA parking - “State Issued Permits Only” -- $5.00 parking fee upon entrance
b. Media – issued parking placard – provided through SID office
2) Arena Commuter Lot
a. Placard issued – assigned contributor parking
3) Lot 65 (Finkbine Commuter)
a. Extremely limited number of parking spaces open to the public - $5.00 parking fee upon entrance – when full will be directed to Ramps 3 & 4
4) Ramps 3 (Clock Tower) & 4 (Field House) – the regular hourly parking rate will be charged
5) Softball and Varsity Track Complex
a. “FREE” wrestling parking within walking distance (15 minute walk)
6) Downtown Iowa City
a. Use parking lots or ramps and use the regular Cambus service
