Clarence "Leroy" Yates

Clarence “Leroy” Yates, 69, of Center Point, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at his home. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.

Leroy is survived by his son, Terry Yates; daughter, Tammy Yates; six grandchildren, Madison, Kirsten, Chacidee and Logan of Cedar Rapids and Zachary and Brooklyn of Conway, Ark.; mother, Doris Norene Yates of Stanwood; three brothers, Marvin (Reba) Yates of Moody, Texas, Gary (Lila) Yates of Cedar Rapids and Mike (Gail) Yates of Stanwood; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roland.

Clarence was born July 2, 1943, in Centerville, the son of Roland and Doris (Marvin) Yates. He served in the United States Navy.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Gathering for family and friends will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Cedar Hills Community Church, 6455 E Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids.
