Gilbert Alex Wood

Gilbert Alex Wood, 88, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at his residence following a short illness. Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herb Yoder officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment, with military honors, conducted by Ainsworth American Legion Post 351, will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Dolores of Washington; son, Robert Duane Wood of Ainsworth; son, Ronald James Wood of Sedalia, Mo.; son, Richard Steven Wood and wife Debra of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Alexia Carla Wood, James David Wood and Steven Alex Wood; one great-granddaughter, Anastazia Chanel Wood; brother, Willard Leroy Wood and wife Linda of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Betty Lou Stewart and husband Robert of Riverside; sister-in-law, Mabel Wood of Ainsworth; brother-in-law, James Porter of Seymour, Tenn.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorials have been established for Washington County Hospice or Ainsworth American Legion Post 351.
