Alice Williamson

Alice Williamson, 85, formerly of Hartwick, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, while a resident of the Mayflower Care Center in Grinnell, following a short illness.

Alice Marie was born Dec. 8, 1926, to Edward and Julia Van Vooren Kochuyt at Keswick, Iowa. Alice married Everett Williamson, her life partner on Aug. 26, 1948, in Victor, Iowa. Together the couple farmed and made their home in the Hartwick community for 60 years, following retirement from farming they moved to Belle Plaine in 2008.

Alice was member of the Hartwick Congregational Church; she later attended the First Congregational Church in Belle Plaine.

Alice is survived by her brother-in-law, Donald (Elaine) Williamson of Atkins; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Kochuyt of Brooklyn, Irene Criswell of Newton and Linda Davis of Victor; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett in 2009; her parents; and brothers, Alois, Charlie, Albert, Francis, Camiel and infant brother and sister.

A celebration of life services, where the family will greet friends and share memories, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor. A lunch will be served immediately after the service at the Victor American Legion. Inurnment will be at the Hartwick Union Cemetery following the luncheon.
