Thompson, Donald Dean
Donald Dean Thompson, 74, of Anamosa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in the Anamosa Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Monticello. His body was cremated.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Thompson; children, Vernon Thompson, Jeanette Gilroy and Heidi Thompson; and grandchildren, Alex, Jessie, Jake, Matt, Emily, Reece and Sean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon L. and Effie Thompson.
Don worked as a professional photographer for most of his life. He performed in the Cedar Rapids Community Theater and was active in local politics. Don was an avid Hawkeye fan and loved spending time with his family.
