Gary Stenerson of Santa Cruz, Calif., formerly of Marion, passed away Dec. 30, 2012, after a long and courageous battle against leukemia. A memorial service was held Jan. 4 in Santa Cruz.

Born Sept. 23, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Gary grew up in Marion, graduated from Linn-Mar High School, Iowa State University and later received his MBA from Pepperdine University in California. He maintained a lifelong love of the Green Bay Packers.

In 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Gail Law. He is survived by his wife, Gail of Santa Cruz; children, Michelle (Anthony) Webb, Kari (Dan) Eckman, all of Colorado Springs, Colo., Matt (Robin) Stenerson of Daly City, Ca.; and three grandchildren, Connor and Caden Webb and Abby Stenerson.

He is also survived by his parents, LeRoy and Jeanne Stenerson of Marion; a brother, Michael (Dana) Stenerson of Charleston, Ark.; a sister, Deb Davis of Loveland, Colo.; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Englebart of Marion.
