Eugene J. “Gene” Steffen

Eugene J. “Gene”Steffen, 75, of 306 Fourth Ave. NE, Farley, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at 1:25 a.m. at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Friends and relatives of Gene may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, where the prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. and the Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. Services for Gene will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley with the Rev. Michael Schueller presiding. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Farley.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Kay” Steffen of Farley; three children, Cindy (Dave) Thul of Marion, Lisa (Dan) Autey of Grafton, Wis., and Steve Steffen of Bettendorf; five grandchildren, Bryan, Michael and Katie Thul, and Tanner and Jaden Autey; two sisters, Rita Willenbring of Farley and Kay Naber of Winthrop; a brother-in-law, Harold “Moose” Maiers of Earlville; brother and sisters-in-law, Ken (Jean) Kramer of Dubuque, Ron (Renee) Kramer of Iowa City, Mary (Tim) Pins of Dyersville; and several nieces and nephews.
