Esther Catherine Steffen, 86, of Manchester, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home.

Survivors include four children, Tom (Maggi) Steffen of Manchester, Joyce Steffen (friend Bonnie Pisarik) of Cedar Rapids, Donna (Steve) Brady of Edgewood and Julie (Sam) Offerman of Charles City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; three sisters, Loretta Brunsmann of Dyersville, Berniece Gassman and Alma Brunsmann, both of Manchester; and four sisters-in-law, Virgie (Irvin) Singsank of Luxemburg, Joan Esch and Ann Steffen, both of Dyersville, and Louise Ries of New Vienna.

Mass of Resurrection: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, by her nephew, the Rev. Carl Ries. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, with a Scripture service at 4 p.m., and after 9:30 a.m. at the church on Monday. Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
