Soukup Sr., Marvin
Marvin Soukup Sr., 85, of rural Spillville, died suddenly Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with the Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and Scripture service at 7 p. m. There also will be visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Marvin’s survivors include his wife, Marcella Soukup, Spillville; three daughters, Connie Arens, Cedar Rapids, Joni (John) Kubesh, Peosta, and Janice (Russ) Turner, Oelwein; three sons, Marvin Jr. (Mary) Soukup, Calmar, Dale (Deb) Soukup, Marion, and Douglas (Betty) Soukup, Calmar; a brother, James Soukup, Decorah; and a brother-in-law, Bernard (Lois) Phillips, Calmar.
