W. Craig Ranshaw

Following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, W. Craig Ranshaw, 57, of Westmont, N.J., went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 21, 2013.

He was the loving husband of Patricia; proud father of Katie Erin, Kyle and Tyler, all of Westmont, N.J.; dear son of William and Joanna (deceased) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother of Barbara Phares of Missouri and Steve (Jean) Ranshaw of North Carolina; son-in-law of Joan Moody; and brother-in-law of Jeff (Susan) Moody and Brian (Leslie) Moody. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Craig grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Washington High School in 1973. He then enrolled at Iowa State University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and Alpha Kappa Delta sociology honor society and earned his degree in education.

Craig will be greatly missed by staff and students at Maple Shade (N.J.) High School, where he proudly taught and coached for more than 30 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at First United Methodist Church of Moorestown, 446 E. Camden Ave., Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Craig’s memory may be made to Maple Shade High School for the Craig Ranshaw Scholarship Fund; pancreatic cancer network at www.pancan.org; or donations may be made to the Westmont (N.J.) United Methodist Church.
