Robert William Paul

Robert William Paul, 93, of Edgewood, formally of Greeley, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by a son, Robert J. (Freda) Paul of Edgewood; daughter, Janet Letts of Greeley; two brothers, Everett (Ann) Paul of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Kenneth Paul of Central City; two sisters, Alberta (Edward) Begley of Marion, and Kathleen DeSotel of Central City; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; spouse, Albia Paul; three brothers; and son-in-law, Donald Letts.

Robert Paul was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Center Point, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Ada May (Wells) Paul. He attended Marion High School. After high school he was engaged in farming and owned and operated his own livestock business. Robert married Albia Frasinger on June 16, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1990. Through the years Robert was involved in many organizations, including Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and woodworking. Robert was a wonderful and caring husband, brother, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial fund has been established.

Robert’s family would like to thank the Edgewood Convalescent Nursing Home and the staff for their compassion and attentive care.
