Palmer, Dorothy J. Fawcett
Dorothy J. Fawcett Palmer, 87, of Marion, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at her home. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Chaplain Jeremy Hudson. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Survivors include her three sons, Michael (Barb) Fawcett of Sheboygan, Wis., Tony (Debi) Fawcett of Marion and Jon (Melody) Fawcett of Center Point; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.
Dorothy was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Mondovi, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Emma Gates. She graduated from Mondovi High School. She later married Alden Fawcett and to this union, their three sons were born. Dorothy and Alden retired to Bradenton, Fla., and lived there for many years. Alden died in December 1988. Dorothy later married Carle Palmer. Carle died in March 2010.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge, and taking long walks. She was a great cook and volunteered for Humana Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. Her greatest joy in life was raising three loving sons.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
