Alice L. Overton

Alice L. Overton, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Northbrook Manor Care Center. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Alice Lillian was born Dec. 23, 1922, to Wilfred and Lilian Irons in Purleigh, Essex, England. She served in the British Army during World War II. Alice served in the Tower of London, among other places. She was united in marriage to Charles W. Overton on July 30, 1945, in Brussels, Belgium. They later divorced.

She is survived by her son, Trevor (Gloria) Overton of Cedar Rapids; and granddaughters, Erin (DJ) Fleege of Center Point and Hannah, Lauren and Danielle Overton, all of Cedar Rapids.

Alice was preceded in death by her son, Michael.
