Dawn Lynn McNeese

Dawn Lynn McNeese, 42, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at her home in Cedar Rapids after a long battle with breast cancer. Per her request there will be no service. Private family visitation will take place. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dawn was born July 11, 1970, to Dinah Folkers and the late Dennis James. She graduated from Linn-Mar High and has been a dedicated employee and manager at Cork N’ Fork Deli of Cedar Rapids, where her customers will greatly miss her.

Dawn is survived by her children, Casey (Andrew) Huffman and Kaylee McNeese, as well as two grandchildren, Brooklyn Freno and Grant Huffman. She is also survived by her two brothers, Dennis (Margie) James of Marion and Dan (Lynne) James of Independence, Mo.; as well as her loving partner, Mike Goldsmith.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Dennis James; and her stepfather, Merle Folkers.

Dawn dearly loved her family and always loved spending time with them. She was hardworking, dependable, and caring; always putting others before herself. She was very strong willed and a true inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
