Lucille Victoria Maly, 97, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Northbrook Manor Care Center. Per Lucille’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

She is survived by her two grandsons, William (Brenda) Maly of Cedar Rapids and John (Kendra) Maly of Spokane, Wash.; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Maly; and a son, Jack Maly.

Lucille Maly was born March 27, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ted and Agnes Downis Braedis. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage. Lucille spent a lifetime caring for others as a devoted nurse. She worked for St. Luke’s Hospital and was a nurse for 40 years. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family and sewing. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lucille’s honor may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
