Luedeman, Carl J.
Funeral Services for Carl J. Luedeman, 75, of Kahoka, Mo., were held Nov. 7, 2012, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Kahoka. Burial, with military rites, in National Cemetery, Keokuk. Mr. Luedeman died Nov. 4, 2012, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
The son of Carl Henry and Martha Aaron Luedeman, he was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Linda Jenkins Sears on Dec. 4, 1992, in Muscatine.
Mr. Luedeman was a retired employee of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where he worked in housekeeping. Following his retirement, he was a janitor in the Luray School in Luray, Mo. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Luedeman was a member of Ayer Boatman Post No. 4342, V.F.W. in Kahoka and a bar manager and bartender. He was a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kirk (Kim) Sears of Muscatine and Richard Luedeman; two grandsons, both of Muscatine; two stepgrandchildren, Gailyn A. (Mrs. Matt) Hill of Muscatine and Ryan G. Minder of Cedar Falls; his mother-in-law, Pat Goben of Kahoka; a sister, Carolyn Lang of Tipton; a half brother, Don Luedeman of Keokuk; and three brothers-in-law, Charles (Sue) Jenkins of Kahoka, Stanley (Sheila) Jenkins of Luray, Mo. and Scott (Libby) Goben of Kahoka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half brother, Darrell Luedeman; two brothers-in-law, John C. Lang and Tom Jenkins; and a nephew, Tim C. Lang.
