Bryce Lord

Bryce Lord, 91, of Iowa City, formerly of Ainsworth, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Walden Place in Iowa City after a lengthy illness. Celebration of Life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer and the Rev. Rebecca Carver officiating. Visitation begins at noon Sunday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday. Interment, with military honors, will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Lord and wife Amy of Ainsworth and Mike Lord and wife Betty of Riverside; and one daughter, Mary Fox and husband Bob of Iowa City. He has seven grandchildren, Joni Sojka and husband Mike, David Lord and wife Tara, Erika Lord-Castillo and husband Brett, Brian Fox, Ben Lord and wife Jenny, Becca Lord, and Steven Lord; as well as three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; his parents; three brothers, Keith, Glen and Bruce Lord; and a special friend, Heidi Kaufman.

Memorials have been established to Iowa City Hospice or the Ainsworth Community Church.
