Shirley I. Long

Shirley I. Long, 82, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at her residence after failing in health for the past six months. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Deb Schmidt officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County.

She is survived by son, Edward Long and fiancee Lisa Mosley of Burlington; daughter, Marsha Hampsher and husband Robin of Ainsworth; two grandchildren, Emily Long Coppess and husband Eric of Nashville, Tenn. and Seth Hampsher and wife Shannon of Marion; two great-grandchildren, Brileigh and Payton Hampsher; stepmother, Cora Whitehead of Mount Pleasant; halfsister, Darlene Hebling of Mount Pleasant; and sister-in-law, Berniece Arnold of Arizona.
