Laue, Percy J.
Percy J. Laue, 82, of West Union, and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Stoney Brook Village in West Union. Percy was born July 26, 1928, in Howard County, the son of Paul and Ethel (Stevenson) Laue. He married Marlys Flanscha October 8, 1971, in Cedar Falls. She preceded him in death August 3, 1985. Percy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was employed by Rath Packing Company in Waterloo and then worked for Cedar Falls Utilities for 24 years, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn (Greg) Inman, of Wichita, Kan.; his son, Allen (Brenda) WInzenburg, of Sumner; three grandchildren, Jessica Selleck, Jennifer Selleck and Amy (Nathan) Chester; two great-grandchildren, Kiya Selleck and Lydia Chester; his sister, Myrna (Robert) Moore, of Fredericksburg; his special friend, Joan Moore, of Postville; his nephew, Alan (Johnna) Moore, of Bettendorf, his niece, Nancy (David) Zittergruen, of Chaska, Minn.; and four great-nieces and nephews.
Percy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial at Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service time at the church.
