Ethel Marie Lamp

Funeral services for Ethel Maxine Lamp, 90, of Tipton, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Ron Lashmit will be officiating. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a private burial at Tipton Masonic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Ethel was born on Feb. 24, 1922, in Cedar County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edward C. and Edith M. Klinkkammer Schott. She attended rural Cedar County Schools while growing up. On March 2, 1943, Ethel was united in marriage to Vernon Henry Lamp in Davenport, Iowa. Ethel operated the Dew Drop Inn in Lisbon.

Ethel is survived by her sons, Ronald (Wendy) Lamp, Donald (Marcie) Lamp and Keith (Linda) Lamp, all of Tipton six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Hahn of Texarkana, Texas and Evelyn Jordan of Albuquerque, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Lamp; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Schott; and sisters, Iona McKay and Verna Burdock.
