Cynthia Lea Koftan

Cynthia Lea Koftan, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died July 20, 2012. A visitation to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Private interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Cindy is survived by her life partner of 30 years, Matt Sindelar; her father, Richard (Lois) Koftan of Cedar Rapids; her sister, Susan (Jim) Phelps of Toddville; and nephew, Jason (Shawna) Phelps of Bettendorf.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Roxie Koftan; and her grandparents, George and Ella Koftan and Wayne and Vera Robey.

Cindy was born Aug. 9, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. She loved Matt, movies and music. She was a Cubs and Bears fan and her cats brought joy to her life.

Memorial donations in Cindy’s honor may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
