Klemp, Eulalia Evelyn
Eulalia Evelyn Klemp, 97, formerly of Iowa City, Marion, and Sumner, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Pioneer Park Care Center in Lone Tree. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. John Lutheran Cemetery near Sumner.
Eulalia Evelyn Busse was born Feb. 9, 1915, in Echo, Minn., the daughter of Herman and Lenora (Neiland) Busse. She graduated from high school in Oran, Iowa. Eulalia married Ferdinand F. Klemp on Jan. 27, 1939, in Vinton, Iowa. The couple farmed near Sumner from the time they married until 1957, when they moved near Marion where they farmed until moving to the Iowa City area where they farmed since 1994. Her husband, Ferdinand, died in 1998. She moved to Pioneer Park nearly three years ago.
Her family includes her children and their spouses, Cleo (Lowell) Britain of Redding, Calif., Donald (Sherrie) Klemp of Iowa City, Rodney (Sandra) Klemp of Iowa City, Duane (Visakha) Klemp of Loveland, Colo., and Theodore (Joni) Klemp of Waynesville, Mo.; her sister, Helen Busse Sharp of Ankeny; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jane Klemp; daughter-in-law, Marcia Klemp; and a stepgrandson.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Eulalia’s family and her services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
