Kathy Lynn Kesselring-Bird

Kathy Lynn Kesselring-Bird, 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, surrounded by her family after a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer Dunkel, Jeremy (Jessie) Hartman and Jason (Rachelle) Bird; 11 grandchildren; sister, Tracy (Lee) Bruce; brother, Danny (Stacie) Kesselring; 14 nieces and nephews; former husband, Mike; and close friend, Steve.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sobrina; and sister, Diane Kesselring.

Kathy was born Dec. 14, 1955, the daughter of Gary and Patricia (Ping) Kesselring, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Mike Bird and later divorced but remained friends. Kathy loved her cat “Lady.”

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Kathy.
